Letting go

You can say it so many different ways, Aparigraha in yoga terminology, deny thy self in the Bible, and Take it easy a song by the Eagles (just kidding).  Its easy to say but something totally different to actually do…  I’m no expert by any means but, just have had an experience lately that has required me to be aware of my need of letting go..

Whether its a material item, something physical or emotional, or just some past experience that just won’t go away, its sometimes very difficult to stop doing or thinking about it.  There can be so many reasons as to why we just keep hanging on and I am not going to discuss that because that is a whole other topic but, I am going to discuss Letting go…

Becoming aware is the first step and the most difficult because if we knew this was a problem we would not be doing it right…  I have started doing a little meditation to see if I can help discover things I am holding on and in need of letting go..  I think being aware and then slowly working on letting go with a little of self talk is where we need to start.  Maybe talk with someone you can trust about what your struggling with.  Just try noticing these items that are holding you back and work on letting go…

If you didn’t have success today don’t beat yourself up about it because, tomorrow you will get a fresh start…  And please remember live each day like it is you first, because first is always better then last and yesterday is gone and there is no promise of a tomorrow…

Living in the NOW

This is something I’ve been working on for sometime now.  Well ever since I read Wishes Fulfilled by Dr. Wayne Dyer he has a chapter that speaks about this.   It seems that we spend so much of our time on what happened yesterday or what we are going to do tomorrow that we totally miss the joy of what we are doing now.

I realize we have to spend some time thinking and preparing for tomorrow but “there is enough worry for today let tomorrow take care of its self,” Mathew 6:34 of the Bible.  It does make a lot of sense tho, if we are constantly worrying about the past or the future we will never enjoy the present.

So maybe just for a moment try enjoying what you are doing right now, forget the past and don’t think of the future, focus on what your reading and how your feeling in this moment.  It will surprise you at how difficult this really is because we are so use to multi-tasking that we just can’t do one thing.  We live in this world now where we try to do everything at the same time, we drive and talk on the phone, even when we eat we seem to have to read or look on some social media sight.

We are training ourselves that doing one thing isn’t good enough and it is becoming a habit we don’t even realize.  Just being aware will actually start breaking this habit and help you realize you are an amazing person and living wonderful life…
